Thank you Joe Fenton for your wow-so-that-makes-me-hang-my-head-in-shame doodle.

 Dear Joe Fenton

I doodle too. But I certainly don't doodle doodles like you doodle do. Doodle.

More Info
Grayscale presents "Overhead Sketch Battles", a series of live knock-out battles where 2 artists compete head to head using only black pens and old school overhead projectors.
Featuring:
Mr. Alpha, Breeze, Rekzo, Myza420, Ben, AE, Kevin Love, Rowan Toselli

How it works:
...Each night there are 2 battles, a battle is 1 hour long and consists of 2 artists battling against each other. Each artist has an overhead projector and a selection of pens to create there piece with. The artists will be drawing on transparency sheets and the entire process will be projected on to the wall for everyone to watch.
At the end of the battle the crowd will be asked to vote, by means of anonymous ballot, for whichever piece they think is the best. The artist with the most votes progresses to the next round.

The artwork created during the battles will be reproduced as a series of limited edition poster prints that will be exhibited at Grayscale Gallery in June.

The battles take place every Thursday in May. (See the schedule below)
Doors open 6:30pm, 1st battle starts at 7pm sharp.

Thank you Brandon Boyd for, well, everything.

Dear Brandon Boyd

I heart you. I want your puppies. I like you so much my English goes to poo. Not only are you responsible for songs I love, but you also draw such pretty things. Too much. It's just too much.

Thank you Alejo Giraldo for your super-cute-animals-dressed-in-suits-that-seem-to-like-to-vomit-a-lot-for-such-distinguished-folk illies.

Dear Alejo Giraldo

You drew cute animals in suits. At first I thought they would be found in the bags of rich heiresses, hiding in shame. But then I looked closer and realized that no heiress would have such an animal in her bags, no matter how totally hawt. They're messy.

This guy seems to be oozing paint from his hand. Not great if you're trying to colour-coordinate an outfit.

The little turtle seems to be vomiting up the same substance as his friend's brain (perhaps he did a Hannibal and then realized why he was vegetarian?)

More vomit from this guy. Shame, he's missed his cup - it's going to be hard to drink it up again from the floor.

This little guy seems to be bleeding. I've never seen an owl bleed. I didn't know they could do it on command. That's a cool party trick.

Ok, this guy is just cute.

Thank you Charmaine Olivia for your-work-that-makes-me-mean-and-nasty

I don't like you. But I'm only saying that because I'm insanely jealous of your skill. And the fact that you're super cute too. Not fair. I want your hair.

Thank you Ruben Ireland for your lady-that-made-me-drool-in-a-totally-non-lesbian-way

First, I saw this little lady and I was like "shoo wee."

Next, I saw the rest of them and I was like "Wa wa wee wa." Please note, I am not a morning person. I am, in fact, very proud that I was able to discern how to write down what passed for grunting and drooling. Actually, I'm pretty proud I can type at this time in the morning (9:43 am). Yessum.

Thank you Penguin and Jillian Tamaki for book-covers-you-actually-embroidered-which-is-just-madness.

Dear Penguin and Jillian Tamaki

You have so much time on your hands. You embroidered these book covers for Penguin Threads. That's awesome. Or insane. Or both. Madness. Great now I've said madness twice. Nay, three times. Good writer fail.
